GLOBE Program fostered the creation of a countrywide green-network, comprised of students and teachers in collaboration with environmental scientists for the purpose of generating knowledge about the environment.

The Second International GLOBE Train-The-Trainers Workshop was hosted by the Indian Environmental Society during April 11 – 19, 2005 at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The workshop was co-hosted by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India. HON’BLE GOVERNOR OF HIMACHAL PRADESH – SHRI V. S. KOKJE INAUGURATED The WORKSHOP.

The Workshop was attended by 49 participants from both India and Abroad. A group of 11 Master Trainers/Leaders/Assistant trainers (2 from GLOBE headquarters, 1 from Nepal, 3 from Thailand, and 5 from India) provided hands-on experience to the participants during the training workshop. All the following four GLOBE Protocols were taken during the Workshop.
