Two Teachers Training Workshops per state have been conducted, in which one teacher from each school attended the training programme. The selection of teachers and schools was done by the Nodal Officer in each state based on the criteria suggested by the Country Coordinator for the GLOBE Program.
Protocols on which the training was conducted:
- Atmosphere: Cloud type and cloud cover, air temperature, amount of precipitation and its pH, Ozone, Haze etc.
- Hydrology: Water transparency, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity / salinity, alkalinity and nitrate-nitrogen of a water body etc.
- Soil: Soil profile, measurements of soil moisture, carbonate content, soil temperature, soil fertility etc.
- Land Cover: Vegetation, Tree Height and Tree Circumference, canopy cover estimation, interpretation of land-sat images etc.
GLOBE Data Reporting Workshop
Indian Environmental Society organized GLOBE Data Entry workshop during 17 – 18 June 2003 at Pune, Maharashtra.
Around 84 GLOBE Trained teachers from Maharashtra were provided with hands-on training of reporting GLOBE data through Internet.
GLOBE Master trainer from IES and GLOBE Country Coordinator – Shri R. Mehta, Advisor (MoEF) trained the participants during the Training Workshop.
