GLOBE.... In India. Schools.... 1700 Schools Participating. Students.... Millions of Students Learning. Teachers.... A key to the success of the GLOBE Program. GLOBE Measurement.... A gift of better understanding of our environment both locally and globally. A Complete Learning Educationally Meaningful Program. GLOBE Program fostered the creation of a countrywide green-network, comprised of students and teachers in collaboration with environmental scientists for the purpose of generating knowledge about the environment.

The schools have GLOBE specified instruments; who were covered in Phase 1 (800 Schools)

Environmental Resource Materials (Charts, Manual, Brochures, Appendixes, Guides, etc.) and communication with the GLOBE students and scientists

Enhanced knowledge on environment; sharing and retrieval of Information. This material was provided to all the Schools (Phase 1 and 2).

Hands on Environmental Research and environmental conservation activities.

Co-operation among student-teacher and local community for protection of local environment.

Outcomes Achieved

Through this programme, the Society has enhanced the capacity of teachers and students to facilitate activities and action projects to address local environmental issues.

  • The Hands-on Activities has been infused in School Curriculum in class VI to VIII.
  • This programme helped students in improving the knowledge and understanding of science, maths, and other innovative informative technologies. Also it increased the students’ awareness about their environment from scientific viewpoint.
  • This programme provided a good opportunity to the students for studying and analysing major environmental parameters through simple but innovative methods/instruments.
  • The programme enriched and vitalized the content areas of the school curriculum through hands-on environmental learning activities.
  • The programme has build-up the capacities of students, teachers, communities, and decision makers in effectively understanding and learning the environmental concepts in the formal school education.
